GTCC set the tone early with physical play on the glass, finishing with a commanding 53–32 rebounding advantage, including 24 offensive boards that consistently created second-chance opportunities. The Titans leaned on their effort and toughness inside to stay competitive throughout the game.
Nevaeh Dobson led the way with a strong double-double performance, posting 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds while controlling the paint on both ends of the floor. Jewel Pass followed with an efficient night, scoring 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting and adding four rebounds. Bailey Dutton provided a spark in limited minutes, knocking down all four of her field-goal attempts and finishing with 10 points and six rebounds.
GTCC’s defense created pressure and disrupted passing lanes, recording 12 steals and three blocks. Bethani Overby anchored the defensive effort off the bench with nine rebounds, three steals, and three blocks, while Aryanna McClean added four steals and key defensive stops.
Despite the strong rebounding edge and defensive effort, turnovers proved costly, as GTCC committed 31 on the night. Southwest Virginia capitalized on those opportunities and found timely scoring late to maintain the lead.
The Titans showed grit, resilience, and effort across the floor, competing until the final buzzer. GTCC will look to build on its rebounding dominance and defensive intensity as it prepares for its next matchup.
