GTCC controlled the boards all night, outrebounding Cape Fear 40–26, with Nevaeh Dobson leading the way with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. Bailey Dutton also added 13 points and eight rebounds, attacking the paint and converting from the free-throw line to keep the Titans within reach. Aryanna McClean provided an efficient scoring boost, shooting 5-of-8 from the field for 10 points while pulling down six rebounds.
The Titans stayed competitive through physical play and second-chance opportunities, collecting 21 offensive rebounds that helped generate extra possessions. Bethani Overby chipped in eight points and seven rebounds, while Jewel Pass and Roselyn Sanchez helped facilitate the offense and pressure the perimeter defensively.
Cape Fear was powered by a strong shooting night from Kelize Velez-Galan, who poured in a game-high 23 points, including five three-pointers. Monica Surratt added 17 points and drew multiple fouls in the paint, allowing the Sea Devils to extend their lead at the free-throw line.
Despite GTCC’s dominance on the glass and steady effort on both ends of the floor, Cape Fear’s perimeter shooting and efficiency proved to be the difference down the stretch.
The Titans will look to build on their rebounding strength and inside presence as they prepare for their next contest.
