GTCC Women Grind Out Overtime Win vs. Catawba Valley

Guilford Technical Community College delivered a gritty, resilient performance on both ends of the floor, pulling out a hard-fought 64–63 overtime victory over Catawba Valley. In a defensive battle marked by second-chance plays, rebounding, and clutch composure down the stretch, the Titans controlled the hustle categories and made big plays when it mattered.

Sophomore forward Roselyn Sanchez powered GTCC with a game-high 22 points and 8 rebounds, adding 6 steals as she consistently attacked the rim and pressured the ball defensively. Bethani Overby gave the Titans a huge lift off the bench, finishing with 12 points and 8 rebounds, while Jewel Pass turned in an all-around effort with 10 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals.

Freshman forward Nevaeh Dobson anchored the interior with a double-double — 10 points and 12 rebounds, including 5 offensive boards that extended key possessions. Isabell Berhe added 8 points and 2 assists, helping steady GTCC’s backcourt.

Defensively, the Titans were relentless, forcing 38 Catawba Valley turnovers and recording 20 steals while battling on the glass for 40 team rebounds. The extra possessions proved critical in the overtime finish.

Catawba Valley was led by Jordyn Adams’ 22 points and 8 rebounds, while Addison Sisk added 8 points and 17 rebounds.

GTCC finished the afternoon shooting 32.1% from the field, nearly identical to Catawba Valley’s 32.8%, but the Titans’ toughness, energy, and execution in the final minutes sealed the victory.

With the overtime win, GTCC continues to build confidence and momentum heading deeper into the season — proving they can compete — and close — in tight, pressure-filled games.
