Titans Advance in Region Tournament with 84–77 Win Over Pitt CC
The Guilford Technical Community College Titans punched their ticket to the next round of the Region Tournament Wednesday night with an impressive 84–77 victory over Pitt Community College, powered by efficient shooting and balanced scoring.
GTCC shot a blistering 51.9% from the field and 44.8% from beyond the arc, knocking down 13 three-pointers to help create separation in a competitive matchup.
Mike Webster led the Titans with a game-high 29 points, adding 5 assists and 3 steals while attacking the rim and controlling the pace of the game. Webster was especially effective at the free throw line, converting 10 of 12 attempts to keep momentum on GTCC’s side late in the game.
Mike Cade delivered one of the most efficient performances of the night, finishing with 20 points on 9-of-10 shooting, while also contributing 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
The Titans received key support from Marcus Robertson, who added 13 points and 6 rebounds, and Nikel Rodgers, who knocked down four three-pointers to finish with 12 points.
Defensively, Jordan Weaver anchored the paint with a strong all-around performance, recording 12 rebounds and 4 blocks while adding 7 points and 4 assists.
Pitt CC kept the game close behind Cam’ron Myers’ 20 points and 9 rebounds and Jerris Fullwood’s 19 points, but the Titans’ perimeter shooting and ball movement proved to be the difference.
GTCC finished with 22 assists and 29 rebounds, showcasing strong teamwork as they secured the postseason win.
With the victory, the Titans move on in the Region Tournament, carrying momentum into the next round.
