Game 1
Titans Take Down Louisburg, 7–2, Behind Strong Pitching and 14-Hit Performance
The Guilford Technical Community College Titans delivered a complete performance on the road, defeating Louisburg College 7–2 behind a balanced offensive attack and dominant pitching.
GTCC’s lineup stayed hot throughout the game, collecting 14 hits and scoring seven runs to secure the victory.
Joseph Buckley led the Titans at the plate with a perfect 4-for-4 performance, driving in three runs and adding a double. Dylan Rose also had a big day offensively, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored, while Andre Mason added two hits and a stolen base.
The Titans’ biggest swing came from Elijah Grant, who launched a two-run home run and finished the game with two RBIs and two runs scored.
GTCC continued to manufacture runs throughout the lineup, with Evan Britt and Trey Costner each contributing an RBI to keep pressure on the Louisburg pitching staff.
On the mound, Carmine Lancaster delivered a strong outing, pitching seven innings while allowing just two runs on six hits and striking out seven batters to earn the win. Lancaster controlled the pace all afternoon, limiting scoring opportunities and keeping Louisburg off balance.
Graham Sutherland closed the game with two scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while striking out three to seal the Titans’ victory.
Louisburg managed seven hits in the game and was led by Camden Wilson, who hit a two-run home run, but the Titans’ pitching staff combined for 10 strikeouts to limit further damage.
With the win, GTCC showcased both offensive depth and strong pitching as the Titans continue building momentum this season.
Game 2
The Guilford Technical Community College Titans dropped the second game of the series to Louisburg College, 8–1, as the Hurricanes used an early offensive surge to secure the win.
Louisburg struck quickly, scoring six runs in the first two innings to take control of the game. Brady Paul led the Hurricanes’ offense with a strong performance, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored, while Payten Shipman added a double, an RBI, and two runs.
GTCC was limited offensively, collecting four hits on the day. Brock Welch provided a bright spot for the Titans, finishing 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored, while Dylan Rose drove in GTCC’s lone run with an RBI single.
On the mound, Carter Batts took the start for the Titans, while the GTCC bullpen saw contributions from Ryan Berry, Keller Bradley, Grady Barnes, and Trajan Louis, who combined to finish the game.
Louisburg pitcher Anthony Dorner was effective throughout the afternoon, throwing a complete-game effort, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out seven.
Despite the setback in game two, the Titans showed resilience throughout the series and will look to bounce back in their next matchup.
Game 3
Titans Drop Series Finale to Louisburg, 14–4
The Guilford Technical Community College Titans fell to Louisburg College 14–4 in the series finale as the Hurricanes used a powerful offensive performance to secure the win.
GTCC showed flashes offensively, collecting seven hits, highlighted by home runs from Trey Costner and Brock Welch. Costner had a standout day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, while Welch added a two-run homer to account for half of the Titans’ scoring.
Andre Mason also contributed offensively with a double, and Alec Brown added a hit and a stolen base as the Titans looked to generate momentum.
Louisburg’s offense proved difficult to contain, finishing with 18 hits. Brady Paul led the Hurricanes with a strong performance, going 4-for-5 with four RBIs, while Jace Dunn hit two home runs and drove in three runs. Clifton Olmedo also homered and finished 4-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored.
On the mound, Zach Cartrette got the start for GTCC, while the Titans also received innings from Timothy Barry, Jaren Jackson, Elliot Flowers, and Logan Stump in relief.
Despite the final score, the Titans showed offensive sparks throughout the lineup and will look to regroup as they prepare for their next matchup.
