Grant’s Five RBIs Power Titans Past Pfeiffer JV, 13–3
The Guilford Technical Community College baseball team used timely hitting and a deep pitching staff to roll past Pfeiffer University JV 13–3 in a nine-inning matchup.
Sophomore outfielder Elijah Grant delivered the biggest swing of the day, launching a home run and driving in five runs to pace the Titans’ offense. Grant finished 3-for-6 at the plate and later added a scoreless inning on the mound to cap off an all-around performance.
GTCC totaled 13 hits and applied pressure throughout the lineup. Dylan Rose went 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored, and an RBI, while drawing two walks. Joseph Buckley added two hits and two RBIs, and Brock Welch collected two hits, including a double, while driving in a run.
The Titans’ aggressive approach on the bases kept Pfeiffer off balance. Brayden Winters swiped two bases, and Evan Britt added another as GTCC consistently moved into scoring position.
After building an early lead, the Titans broke the game open late with a five-run eighth inning, capitalizing on defensive miscues and timely extra-base hits. Pfeiffer committed multiple errors, and GTCC took full advantage to create separation.
On the mound, the Titans’ staff combined for 10 strikeouts while allowing just five hits. Zach Cartrette and Graham Sutherland set the tone with four scoreless innings to start the game. Keller Bradley worked through a challenging fifth but limited damage, and the bullpen trio of Trajan Louis, Timothy Barry, and Grant closed the door over the final four frames.
Despite issuing seven walks, the Titans’ pitching staff stranded runners and held Pfeiffer to just one earned run.
With balanced offense, aggressive baserunning, and steady pitching, GTCC controlled the tempo from start to finish in a convincing 13–3 victory.
