Titans Walk It Off in 12-Inning Thriller Behind Mason’s Heroics
Guilford Technical Community College battled through a back-and-forth contest and delivered in clutch moments, outlasting Patrick & Henry Community College 7–6 in a 12-inning thriller.
The Titans showed resilience all night, responding to multiple deficits before ultimately sealing the win in dramatic fashion. Andre Mason led the charge with a standout performance, going 3-for-6 with two home runs and two RBIs, including the game-winning solo shot in the 12th inning.
Patrick & Henry struck first and built momentum midway through the game, highlighted by a three-RBI effort from Josh Hall Jr. and a solo home run from Jessen Copeland. The visitors carried a 6–2 lead into the sixth inning before GTCC mounted its comeback.
The Titans answered in the sixth, stringing together timely at-bats to plate three runs. Trey Costner drove in a run with a single, while Brayden Winters and Elijah Grant each contributed RBI opportunities to cut the deficit and shift momentum.
GTCC’s pitching staff settled in down the stretch, with Carmine Lancaster delivering a dominant performance out of the bullpen. Lancaster tossed five scoreless innings, allowing just five hits while striking out four to keep the Titans within reach and give the offense time to respond.
After Mason tied the game with a solo home run in the eighth inning, both teams traded scoreless frames until extra innings. In the 12th, Mason stepped up once again and delivered, launching his second home run of the game to right field to walk it off for the Titans.
GTCC finished with 11 hits on the night, with additional contributions from Evan Britt (2-for-5, RBI), Trey Costner (2-for-4, RBI), and Mason’s game-defining performance.
With the win, the Titans showcased their grit and ability to execute in high-pressure moments, completing a hard-fought comeback in one of their most thrilling victories of the season.
