GTCC Dominates Patrick & Henry, 16–2 Behind 20-Hit Performance
Guilford Technical Community College delivered one of their most complete performances of the season, overpowering Patrick & Henry Community College 16–2 in a game defined by relentless offense and sharp pitching.
GTCC’s bats were electric from top to bottom, racking up 20 hits and 16 RBIs.
Brayden Winters led the charge with a 4-hit day and 2 RBIs, while Bryce Meachem was nearly perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a home run and 3 RBIs.
Power showed up in a big way. Meachem, Brock Welch, and Trey Costner each launched home runs, helping break the game wide open. Ashton Fernandez added 3 RBIs of his own, including multiple doubles, and Elijah Grant sparked the offense with a triple, 3 runs scored, and 2 stolen bases.
GTCC blew the game open early with a huge second inning, then kept the pressure on with multi-run frames in the fourth, fifth, and sixth.
On the mound, Timothy Barry set the tone, striking out 7 over 4 innings while allowing just 1 earned run. Zach Cartrette closed things out, holding Patrick & Henry scoreless over the final two innings.
